- 4 / 5By Judy HanleyThis restaurant has become our Go-To Italian restaurant in McHenry county. The NY Strip Steak is also excellent, and my husband has enjoyed the fish there as well. Last night we we and I had the Orrechiette (broccolli rabi and spicy sausage (that they make in the restaurant--excellent) in a garlic olive oil broth, and my husband had the Chicken Picatta. Soup or salad are included and we both opted for the delicious, crisp salad with their homemade garlic-sour-cream dressing. We did start with their homemade Arancini (deep fried rice balls in a rustic red sauce) which was outstanding. We ordered a take-home portion of that--so delicious. Everything was wonderful. Service is always good and the cocktails are well made and generous. We like to stay away from the tables ACROSS from the bar (too dark and cramped), but we enjoy eating AT the bar (Nikki is a star) or in the back dining area (with a view of the slips and river).
